Charles Darwin Voyage on HMS Beagle Timeline
Under the command of Captain Robert FitzRoy HMS Beagle's mission to conduct hydrographic and mapping surveys of the South American coastlines during its circumnavigation voyage from Plymouth, England, to South America, to Galapagos, to New Zealand and Australia, to Mauritius, to Cape Town returning to Plymouth, England.
Darwin was invited on board as Naturalist. He made detailed observations, including geological cataloging numerous species for his theory of evolution of natural selection. -
Voyage of the Beagle 1839
Darwin's first published book of a four-volume set. Based on his travels on the HMS Beagle, from his journal entries, to observe and collect specimens of plants, animals, rocks, and fossils.

Considered Darwin's first monograph (written study), that formed the first part of his theory of the formation of coral reefs and atolls.

On the Origin of Species: 1859
The book is seminal work in scientific literature and a landmark work in evolutionary biology. Darwin introduced the theory that populations either adapt to the changes in their environment or face extinction. Darwin's concepts of 'natural selection' opened the way for more scientific breakthrough and new understanding of the natural world.
