Darwin's Departure
Darwin was 22 when he embarked on the Beagle Voyage as the captain's assistant. They departed from Plymouth, England on December 27, 1831. -
First Stop
Darwin's first stop is the Cape Verde Islands but it is unknown the day he made this stop. -
Crossing the equator
Darwin has crossed the equator. -
Second stop
Day was also unknown but Darwin reached Salvador, Brazil. It was his first time seeing a Brazilian rainforest. -
Punta Alta, Argentina
Darwin finds giant foosils and comes to the conclusion that they must be new. -
Falkland Islands
Darwin finds the Falkland Islands and is upset because its barren, until he opens some "primitve looking rocks" and finds differnt fossils. This island was full of brachiopods. -

Galapagos Islands
The galapagos tortoises really draw interest to darwin because of how large they were. He rode on the backs of some of these tortoises. He also saw a unique type of iguana that feeds and swims in the ocean. Darwin was curious so he opened the stomachs of some of these iguanas and found nothing but seaweed -
