Early Career/School
Charles Darwin is one of the fore father's for the theory of evolution. He started his education at 16, he was going to Edinburgh University in 1825. 3 years after he started at Edinburgh his father swtiched him to Christ's College. The Beagle Voyage
In 1831 Darwin started "The Beagle Voyage" this would be a staple in his "evolution by natural selection theory." During this voyage Darwin visited 24 countries in the 4 year voyage. He found a new love for fossile extraction. During this trip he visited the Galapagos Islands, which many belive was was the point of his life when he had his "eureka" moment as many would put it. When he noticed that the same species of bird had different bone structures. -
Early Natural Selection Theory
When Darwin got back from the voyage he worked with the Royal College of Surgeons with the fossiles he had collected on his travels. During this research he noticed that most animals were much larger in the past but eventually got replaced by the same animal but smaller. The animals evolved to their surrondings that was best suited for their current living situation. This was the basis for the Natural Selection Theory. https://youtu.be/0SCjhI86grU -
The Publication of "The Theory of Natural Selection"
In 1856 Darwin started his book "Natural Selection." Just two years after he started he received a letter stating that Alfred Russel Wallace was drafting a similar theory to his. This information pushed Darwin to publish his book in conjunction with Wallace. After he published his first version of the book, he quickly worked on a abstract of "Natural Selection" which was sold in 1859. https://www.britannica.com/biography/Charles-Darwin/Evolution-by-natural-selection-the-London-years-1836-42
