Charles Darwin (1809-1882)-The Voyage of the Beagle, 1831-1836
The end of the summer of 1831 Charles Darwin was offered a position as a naturalist on the HMS beagle which was the British Royal Navy's survey ships. During the five year sail Darwin wrote about his experiences and collected samples. Meeting the famous Charles Lyell, who wrote the book Principes of Geology, Darwin was able to present his work to the Geological Society of London with the help of Mr. Lyrell and there is where Charles Darwin began his ideas of theory evolution. -

Charles Darwin(1809-1882) Contribution to the philosophy of science
Charles darwin was the first scientist to publish theory of evolution by natural selection. Darwin's contribution to science was that the theory of evolution was declared that species survived through "natural selection". He then published a detailed explanation of his theory which was called, "On the Origin of Species by means Natural Selection". In the next century that came about, studies and test such as DNA provided and proved Charles Darwin theory of evolution.
