His Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection says that species survive through a process called Natural Selection where those who evolved or adapted to the changing climate and habitual requirements thrived. -

While those species that failed to adapt and reproduce all died off. Darwin noticed similarities among the species of the world through his observation of birds, plants, and fossils. This lead him to believe that the species known today are ones who have evolved from common ancestors. This Theory became known as Darwinism. -
