  • HMS Beagle

    HMS Beagle
A voyage that set sail from Plymouth Sound on the English channel. The Beagles objective was to map and survey South America. Charles Darwin was recommended for the voyage that was five years long. He spent his time on the ship in the library, reading theories and making his own.
  • Galapagos Islands

    Galapagos Islands
Darwin would explore the islands while the ship would survey and map. Darwin discovered fossils that had been pushed up to the surface. As he moved from island to island he realized that the finches, tortoises, and lizards had evolved for survivability on their island. Locals knew which island there were from by just looking at the species.
  • The Origin

    The Origin
Darwin took his time and study different species deeply. Darwin explains that all life is related. We are on a big tree and each branch is different branches and twigs. The Origin explains his theories of evolution by natural selection. Saying that the fittest survive and reproduce the traits that help them survive.
  • Darwin's Paradigm

    Darwin's Paradigm
Darwin grew up being told that Natural Theology was the way the world worked. That everything was because God had made it that way. Darwin's turned everyone's world upside down when he discovered that we evolved over time through natural selection. It took Darwin around 20 years to feel 100 percent about his work. He collected specimens and fossils proving that we evolve to become strong, faster, smarter for the area we live in.
