    The Theory of Natural Selection
While on his adventures at sea, and on land Charles Darwin noticed that creatures he found were very similar, but slightly distinct. It wasn't until he was back in England that he theorized that animals adapt to their surrounding, making them slightly different. This later became a huge bolster for his idea of evolution in his book, On the Origin of Species. Watch the following video for more on the topic.

The Structure and Distribution of Coral Reefs.
Darwin describes the formation of the coral reef based off of inspiration from Charles Lyell's book Principles of Geology. In his monograph he theorizes that the formation of reefs, sea bed and marine structure is formed thanks to uplifting and subsidence of vast areas underneath the ocean floor. Eleven years after publishing his book Darwin was awarded the Royal Society's Royal Medal.

Theory of Evolution and the Process of Natural Selection
In Charles Darwin's greatest success tale "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Section" he described theories and ideas never introduced before. Controversy spurred out immediately. Religious conflict scrutinized his work and efforts to debunk his book were in full effect. Atop from all of it, great scientific strides were made with these new ideas.
