    On February 12, 1809 Charles Darwin was born at The Mount House in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom to Dr. Robert Darwin and Susannah Darwin. Charles Darwin was one out of five siblings. His siblings were Marianne, Caroline, Susan and Erasmus Darwin.

    Educational Period

    Between the years of 1818 - 1825 Charles Darwin was an individual who was not to fond of school. By 1825, Charles attended Edinburgh University to study medicine like his father wanted but medicine was not a field that he particularly enjoyed. It was clear that Charles took a heavy interest in nature rather than medicine. Darwin would soon leave Edinburgh University to attend Christ College Cambridge in the year 1827, where he felt more comfortable pursuing a degree in natural history.

    The Voyage of the Beagle
    It was during this time when Darwin was aboard the British Royal Navy, HMS Beagle sailing across South America as a naturalist.     Darwinism and Evolution
    After creating the first edition of his book On the Origin of Species, Charles would create five more editions that would include the famous words that are known today which are "Darwinism" and "Evolution". These two words were first introduced in his last two editions of his book. Darwinism is Charles theory of the evolution of species by natural selection. Charles had defined evolution as species changing over time and could also possibly share a common ancestor.
