    Charles Darwin a British naturalist born to Dr. R.W. Darwin and Susanna Darwin on February 12 1809. Darwin was the second youngest of six children born to wealth.     In 1831 Charles Darwin set sail on the H.M.S Beagle from Plymouth England. Darwin traveled to South America collecting and observing organisms and fossils aiding him to develop his theory of evolution through natural selection. He'd been building on his ideas since his five-year journey in the 1830s to the South American coast, the Galapagos Islands, and other regions on the British ship H.M.S. Beagle.     In 1882, Charles Darwin died of a heart attack. Influential groups wanted a grander commemoration than a funeral in Downe, something better for the gentleman naturalist who had delivered the “new Nature” into the new professionals’ hands.(Britanica) Although Darwin was agnostic he was buried in Westminster Abbey with the approval of George Granville Bradley the Dean of Westminster.
