Cambridge period of life
He goes to Cambridge after the Christmas vacation, early in 1828. He it is not too deep in training. He wakes up in a passion for collecting beetles. In his final examination in January 1831 Darwin did well, coming tenth out of 178 candidates for the ordinary degree. -
Voyage of the Beagle
In 1831, after graduating from university, as a naturalist, Darwin went to a round trip on the Royal Navy research vessel "Beagle".During the trip, he carefully writes his observations and theoretical calculations. -
Return to the England
The journey lasted for almost five years. Most of the time, Darwin spends on the beach, studying the geology and collecting natural history collection.During the journey he has made a number of descriptions of various areas of geology, amassed a collection of animals, and gave a brief description of the external structure and anatomy of many marine invertebrates. -
Scientific activities after returning
In 1838-1841 Darwin was secretary of the Geological Society of London. In 1839 he married, and in 1842 the couple moved from London to Down (Kent), when began to live permanently. Here Darwin led a secluded and measured life of the scientist and writer. -
Geology Monograph
In 1846, Darwin ended his latest monograph on the geology and planned to come to grips with the issues of evolution. A few months later, he wanted to dedicate the study of barnacles. But the work is spread out until 1854 he created a major work, which zoologists used until now. -
Evolutionary studies
