The Voyage
Darwin is best known for his work with natural selection and evolution. His work being influential long after his death. His study of this process happened after the age of 22 when he took a voyage on "The Beagle." Sailing towards the end of December in 1831.
The boat sailing gave him many months of observation and time to contemplate and observe the life of the sea and the Brazilian jungles. Also the Andes mountains. -
Island Observations
In 1835 after a few pit stops and adventures Darwin came to the Galagoes islands. this is when he tagged his specimens of the bird community's. one of more the more widely known observations by Darwin today. Darwin took note that on the four islands as he travelled the birds had a difference. This is when he tagged his varying specimens.
From this time until April 1836 he continued his contemplation and observations. Leading to his 1,750 pages of notes being finished. -
Rising Publications
After returning home and looking over his discoveries with a Friend. Darwin Publish his Diaries "Journal of Researches into the Geology and Natural History of the Various Countries Visited by H.M.S. Beagle." This publication aiding him in his concepts a descriptions of specimens being widely known and read. -
Origin of Species
It wasn't until 1859 that Darwin Published his book on "Origin of Species." his research and work being compiled. His theory of evolution coming to light over the course of the many years of study that he did. Darwin's work in the philosophical and natural sciences world. is used to this day, what you learn of his observations leads to higher forms of thought and questioning in todays scientific world. -
