  • Education of Darwin (cont’d)

During the second year of Darwins stay at he university, was really when we see, Darwin start to pick up more of the biology side that we know of him today. Darwin joined the Plianian Society, a group that challenged religious views on science. Darwin started learning the classification of plants, and started to volunteer to at the university’s museum, one of the largest at that time.

  • Charles Darwin and the Galápagos Islands

At this point in Darwins journey, he has noticed significant changes in birds, mammals, and reptiles throughout the different regions he explored. This was a pivital moment for Darwin as he came to a more in depth realization that creatures evolve to better suit their individual needs. A good break down of this is provided in this YouTube link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dfsUz2O2jww
  • The death of Darwin and what he left behind

Darwin died from what at the time was thought to be angina pectoris, but later findings point to the direction of Chana’s disease, a disease caused from a bite from the “kissing bug”. Darwin left behind one of the most insightful collections of knowledge on evolution to date.
