    Charles Darwin Attended Shrewsberry school in 1818 to 1825. He was kicked out of the school, and deemed a failure. Darwin describes the school as narrow and classical. Darwin then spent a few months with his dad shadowing him on his doctor rounds.

    Following his dismissal from Shrewsberry school Charles spent the summer with his father, who has a doctor. Darwin shadowed him on his rounds and later that year attended Edinburgh School of medicine. Darwin left that school in 1827. While he was at Edinburgh he met his mentor Robert Grant. Grant was a zoologist and anatomist.

    After leaving Edinburgh Charles Darwin began studying clerical studies at Cambrifge per request of his father. Darwin stayed there until 1831 and that is when he made his first big contributuon to science.

    In 1831 Charles Darwin graduated from Cambridge and was invited to join the crew of the H.M.S. Beagle as a naturalist. Throughout the 5 years they traveled South America he collected several samples and sent them back home. He collected plants, fossils, and several other specimens. Darwin left England a recent graduate and returned as a seasoned veteran in natural science.

    During his time on the ocean he met a geologist Lyell who was a big supporter for him I’m the future. In 1837 he read his first published work “observations on the coast of Chile” at the geologist convention in London. Throughout the next 3 years Darwin publishes 2 more of his works about his voyage. Following the publication he was inducted into the royal society of geological society.

    During this time Charles Darwin published three works to include the theory of evolution, coral reefs, and volcanic studies. His most prominent was the theory of evolution, which was a 231 page manuscript. The idea was inspired by the response of Joseph Dalton Hooker.

    Charles Darwin had 10 children. His eldest was named Annie and she died in 1851 with complications. Research shows that incest played a key role in his families ill health. In the same year Darwin published two volumes of stalked barnacles. This literature changes the whole landscape of the study for that time.

    In 1858 Charles Darwin worked with Wallace to publish his thoughts. He called the study the tendencies of species to form varieties. His first work was scrutinized due to the lack of academic reference. He began re writing the work with the backing of Huxley in 1859.
