    Charles Robert Darwin born on February 12 1809 in Shrewsbury united kingdom.
  • Studies

    In 1831 Charles Darwin boarded the H.M.S. Beagle for a five-year expedition. During this time he visited several different places including Brazil, Buenos Aires and Argentina. It was during his time in the Galapagos Islands in 1835 that he was able to study the San Cristóbal Mockingbird that became the first species that he would base his theory of evolution on.

    During his travels in this parts, he studied a few different Mockingbirds including the Floreana Mockingbrid. He was able to observes how the different birds were able to adapt to their environment. Also, he was able to observe different tortoises and that there were different characteristics. It was the finches that helped Darwin really understand evolution.

    He also wrote several volumes during this time titled The Zoology of the Voyage of H.M.S. Beagle from 1838-1843.
  • Journal

    He wrote about his travels in his Journal of Research. Going over his findings was written in 1839
  • Origin of Species

    It was in 1859 that he wrote “On the Origin of Species By Means of Natural Selection.
  • Death

    Died on April 19th 1882.
