  • Birth of Charles Darwin

    Charles Richard Darwin was born February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom.
  • Invited to the HMS Beagle

    Charles Darwin was invited to join the HMS Beagle on an expedition throughout South America, the infamous Galapagos Islands, New Zealand, Australia and South America. During Darwins travels, he took notes and created sketches of fossils from every where he visited. As it is so widely known, Charles Darwin came up with the "Theory of Evolution" and believed that this can be proven through tracking fossils over time.
  • Presentation to the Linnean Society

    In 1858, Charles Darwin collaborated with Alfred Russel Wallace in a presentation on the theory of evolution. Originally Charles Darwin was writing what was called at the time his "Big Book" when he received a letter from Wallace declaring the similarities in their work. Darwin, surprisingly, did not want to intrude on Wallace's work and even offered to not publish his. Instead they both worked together in their presentation to the Linnean Society though neither of them actually attended.
  • The publishing of "Origin of Species"

    in 1859, Darwin published one of the most controversial books of all time, "Origin of Species". To this day, this book sparks arguments everywhere from the scientific community to the religious people and even to the social and political arena. His book challenged what we knew about mankind and did exactly what it was meant to do. It got people talking and questioning what we thought we knew about where we came from.

He published many notable books and the work he created in his life helped develop some of the deepest questions about life that philosophers have yet to ponder and influenced all science to question our origins,
