Charles Darwin (1809-1882)

  • Darwin becomes a doctor's apprentice

    Starting in 1825, Darwin began assisting his father, Robert Darwin treat the local poor before eventually attending University of Edinburgh Medical School.
  • Darwin goes to Cambridge

    After neglecting Medical School, Darwin's father send his to the University of Cambridge to study theology.
  • Darwin traveling Galapagos

    After 3 years of traveling, Darwin lands in Galapagos studying unique animals and and birds studying their characteristics which later helped him conclude his Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection.
  • Darwin writes his journal of research

    Darwin completes his notes which are now known as "The Voyage of the Beagle"
  • The Origin of Species was published

    After Darwin becoming seriously ill, he was unable to speak publically therefore leading him to publish "The Origin of Species", which is now known as the foundation of evolutionary biology.
  • Charles Darwin's passing

    Darwin passed away in his home surrounded by family, and was later buried at Westminster, London.
