The Structure and Distribution of Coral Reefs
Charles Darwin discussed the varying coral reef species and described their growth. He created his observations & discussion while on the Voyage of Beagle. He provided information regarding isolated growth rings, called atolls and formation of reefs on the seafloor near extinct volcanoes. His contribution provided expanded knowledge of Marine life.

Letters to Asa Gray (Botanist)
Charles Darwin corresponded with Asa Gray over 300 letters to discuss American flowers. Asa Gray was a well known botanist collaborating with other scientist to discuss scientific topics and debate. The sharing the information was helpful in providing support and data for Darwin to develop his Theory of Evolution. After the findings, Darwin began to present & discuss his view on evolution.

Species of Origin
Charles Darwin developed a Theory of Evolution and described in detail in his published works. He described how species change, adapt, and disappear over time. He contributed to biology, and a basic understanding of genetics when discussing Natural Selection and Survival of variation within the species. He was considered revolutionary in his time.

The Descent of Man
The last major publication before his death in 1882 was The Descent of Man. He provided a more in depth knowledge to biological studies, wherein which there is even more variation changing the order of natural selection. He contributed women into the scenario of natural selection, at a time when men dominated science. He relayed the distinction that sex plays in evolution and is also interconnected into natural selection.
