    Charles Robert Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England February 12 1809. He is most famously known for his Theory of evolution by natural selection.

  • 1837-1859

    Darwin first devised his theory in private between the years 1837 and 1839. In 1859, the public got its first insight into Darwin's theory of evolution with the publication of his book The Origin of Species.

  • 1839-1882

    Upon completion of his initial theory in 1839, Darwin spent the rest of his life working to gather more and more evidence to support his beliefs. As an Agnostic, Darwin dedicated the remainder of his life to substantiating what he called "Design without a Designer".
    His works continue to prove valuable to science to this day.
