    On Oct. 5, 1947, in the first televised White House address, President Harry S. Truman and several cabinet members, including Secretary of State George C. Marshall, asked Americans to refrain from eating meat on Tuesdays, and poultry and eggs on Thursdays, to help stockpile grain for starving people in Europe.Harry Truman wanted the goal of this to supply more grain for animals. Doing this would also help the starving people in Europe and give them emergency food.

This Vaccine changed the lives of people because it saved millions of lives. This vaccine also made a big impact in the medical field.

    The shippingport Atomic Power station was the worlds first full-scale atomic electric power plant devoted exclusively to peacetime uses. This shippingport power plant was located near the present-day Beaver Valley Nuclear Generating Station on the Ohio River in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA, about 25 miles from Pittsburgh. Shippingport was opperated by Admiral Hyman G. Rickover.
