A charter issued by King John of England. People couldn't be persecueted because of their religous beliefs. -
English Bill of Rights
Limited the power of the English soveriegn. It was written as an act of Parliament. -
Boston Massacre
It was where British soldiers killed five males and injured six others. It's also known as the Incident on Kings Street by the British. -
Boston Tea Party
Where the colonist protest 13 years of increasing British oppression. Then the the British had harsher penelties. -
First Contenintal Congress
Meeting of delegate of 12 of the 13 colonies. Tried to establish a government. -
Second Continental Congress
It was the convention of delegates from the thirteen colonies. They wrote the Articles of Confederation and the Declaration of Independence. -
Declaration of Indepenedence
Granted us our freedom. We were no longer under British control. -
Articles of Confederation
It was the first Constitution of the United States. It was signed on March 1st, 1781. -
Virginia Plan
It was proposed by Virginia delegates for a bicameral legislative branch. It was drafted by James Madison. -
New Jersey Plan
It was a structure of the United States Government presented by William Paterson at the Constitutional Convention. It was also known as the small state plan.
