Was a proposal to create a unified government for the 13 colonies. Benjamin Franklin suggested it. -
Boston Massacre
This is where the the British Troops killed 5 men and injured 6 men. They were supposed to protect and support crown appointed colonial officials. -
Boston Tea Party
"Destruction of the tea" Americans threw tea in the harbor. -
First Continental Congress
Meeting of 12 colonies except Georgia. -
Second Continental Congress
This was a meeting with 12 colonies, not Georgia. It was soon after the American Revolution. -
Articles of Confederation
This was an agreement among the 13 founding states that established the USA as a confederation of soverign states and served as its first constitution. -
Shay's Rebellion
It was brought on by many factors. One of which was financial depression after the war. -
Philadelphia Convention
Also known as a constitutional convention. Was called to address the governmental problems in the USA. -
Virginia Plan
Also known as the Randolph Plan. This was a proposal by Virginia delegates for a bicameral legislative branch. -
New Jersey Plan
Also known as the Small State plan. Was a proposal the the USA government in response to the Virginia Plan. -
Declaration of Independence
Was a statement adopted by the Continental Congress. Said they were no longer apart of the British empire.
