    • Great warrior as well as an able ruler.
    • Increased trade, oversaw building projects, and improved the tax system.
    • Most known for "Hammurabi's Code" which consists of 282 laws regarding consequences, trade, as well as many other topics.

    • Captured Jerusalem's people and made them slaves in Babylonian.
    • He built palaces, temples, and many other architectural wonders. The Hanging Gardens being the most famous.
    • During his rule, the people made advances in astronomy. They charted the stars' positions to help track weather, political, and economic events.

    • Made changes to the Persian government such as surrounding the kingship with ritual and ceremony.
    • A very arrogant and cocky ruler. This tended to intimidate other empires.
    • Had satraps help him rule since the empire was so large.
    • Darius's reforms eventually strengthened the Persian economy.
    • Built roads throughout the empire which increased trade.
