  • Battle of Fort Sumter

    North had low resources but strong defense and South had lots of resources but not as great of a defense. Begining of the war to cut off supplies to the Northern fort.
  • Anaconda Plan

    Abraham Lincoln was important. It was a blockade to hurt the South. The plan was to cut off the Mississippi River in the South, which prevented trade and importation. Lasted for 1 month
  • Battle of Fredericksburg

    General Ambrose Burnside vs Robert E Lee. Robert E. Lee pushed Burnside away from the river, Burnside tried to gather troops to attack Lee which worked for a while but ended in a Northern loss
  • Chancellorsville

  • Gettysburg

    Robert E. Lee led 60,000 confederates into the North, the North won. The most important battle of the civil war. WIped out almost half of the livestock and destroyed the land in the South. Abraham Lincoln wanted to convince the North to not give up in the war.
  • Battle of Petersburg

    Wanted to cut off the Souths supply lines (train tracks). Ended the war. Last push by Robert E Lee to finish the war
  • Appomattox Court House

    Confederate surrended and signed the document because they were out numbered. North was going to outlast the South. Not the last battle, but basically the end of the civil war
