Battle of Tours
The Battle of Tours was fought during the Muslim invasions of Western Europe in the 8th century. The Muslins had conquered Spain by 732 and were looking for continue to expand their Empire. Charle Martel encamped on a wooded hill and forced the Moors to fight uphill into the trees. After 6 days of waitting the Moors attacked ang Martel's force held firm. In the end, Martel defented the Moors, and the Moors returned to Spain. -

The Pepin became the King of Franks
Pepin the Short was the first king of the Frankish Carolingian dynasty and the father of Charlemagne, the son of Charles Martel. In 751, Pepin the short asked the Pope to affcially name him King of the Franks. Then the Pope St. Zachary agrees and St. Boniface anionts him in 751. In 754, Pope Stephen III traveled to France and anoint Pepin and his two sons again. -
Charlemagne conquered Saxony
The Saxon Wars were the campaigns and insurrections of the more than thirty years from 772, when Charlemagne first entered Saxony with the intent to conquer, to 804, when the last rebellion of disaffected tribesmen was crushed. In all, eighteen battles were fought in what is now northwestern Germany. They resulted in the incorporation of Saxony into the Frankish realm and their conversion from Germanic paganism to Germanic Christianity. -
The Pepin died, and the Kingdom divided
Pepin died during a campaign, in 768 at the age of 54. He was interred in the church of Saint Denis. The Frankish realm was divided according to the Salic law between his two sons: Charlemagne and Carloman I. -
Charlemagne crowned emperor
In the year 800 AD, Charlemagne had gone to Rome to help put the affairs of the church in order.On Christmas Day, in 800 AD, while knelt in prayer in Saint Peter's, the pope crowned Charlemagne emperor by placing a gold crown on his head.This was the foundation of the Holy Roman Empire.
