Sugar Act
The British passed the Stmap Act. It was passed because they wanted more money for security in the Colonies. It was a act to tax all sugar in the Colonies and from the Colonies. It was passed by Parliament, but made for the Colonies. -
Stamp Act of 1765
The Stamp Act of 1765 was passe dby the British Parliament . It was a tax on any type of printed paper. Money was colected to protect troops. It was implied in the Colonies. -
Sons of Liberty
Group of nine people protest the Stamp Act. Also, protested the Tea Act. They were located in Massachusetts Bay Colony. By the end of 1767 they were almost in very Colony. The Reason they protested was because they were agitated by Parliament passing acts. -
Townshed Acts
Imposed townwnshed duties on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea. The taxes were enforced on the colonies. The colonists protested and in 1770 all the taxes were repealed except the tax on tea. Townshed hoped to defray imperial expences in the Colonies. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was in Boston of course. It started because they colonists weren't happy with the taxes and started to talk back to the Red Coats. Five people were killed during the Boston Massacre. It was the colonists againt the Red Coats. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act was passed by Parliament. It taxed the colonists on Tea. It was to prop the East India Company. It was on the colonies and imports and exports of tea with the colonies. The Tea Act led to the Boston Tea Party. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was started by the Sons of liberty. It happened in the Boston harbor. It happened because colonists were revolting on the Tea Act. The colonists dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor because they were unhappy about the Tea Act. The Boston Tea party led to the Intolerbale Acts. -
Intolerable Acts
It was Britains reaction to the Boston Tea Party. It stated that the colonists had to give home to the troops. They were mainly in the Massachusetts Bay Colony area. Parliament passed this Act. -
First Continental Congress
Met in Carpender Hall in Philadelphia. All Colonies sent a delegate except Georgia. All the delegates were elected by colonists. Was to have Colonists talk to Britain and the World. Delegates from each Colony were elected to come to this to talk with the other Colony electives.
