What are the three parts of the cell theory?
1.- All living things are made up of cells.
2.- Cells are the smallest units (or most basic building blocks) of life. 3.- All cells come from preexisting cells through the process of cell division.
  • Hans and Zacharias Janson - 1590

Hans and Zacharias Janson - 1590
Zacharias was the dad of Hans. They were dutch focal point processors. In 1590 they created the first compund microscope instrument wich had two lenses. There creation was the primary microscope instrument ever. They additionally help mading the telescope.
  • Anton van Leeuwenhoek - 1632-1723

    Anton van Leeuwenhoek - 1632-1723
Anton was a seller of German fabrics, and an amateur scientist. He was the first person ever to use a microscope with clear lighting. In his life he created over 250 microscopes. He has looked at many things using his basic light microscopes. Looking at the stuff in the microscope he saw very small living creatures that we now call the bacteria, which he called "animalcules." Later, he sent about 560 letters about his dicoveries and findings were sent to England.
  • Robert Hooke - 1635-1703

    Robert Hooke - 1635-1703
He was among the first to look at cells and an English scientist. In 1660 he looked through a micrsocope at a small piece of cork and saw tiny, hollow-like structures in the room. He named them cells, for the structures reminded him of the cells in which monks stay. He just saw the outer walls because there are no living cork cells. He published a book called Micrographia in 1665, and had ideas on various scientific theories, such as the origin of the craters in the moon, fossils, cells...
  • Henri Dutrochet - 1776-1874

    Henri Dutrochet - 1776-1874
He was a French botanist and physician. In 1824 he discovered that the increase in their cells caused plants to expand. He was the first person to understand that cells are a part of any living organism. He studied and explained; osmosis, resperation, embryology, and the plant effect of light. In his career, he had made numerous contibutions to science.
  • Robert Brown - 1773-1858

    Robert Brown - 1773-1858
He was a botanist and scientist of Scottish descent. In 1831 he saw a cell based body and he called nucleus. He made significant contributions to botany primarily through his use of the microscope.
  • Matthais Schleiden - 1804-1881

    Matthais Schleiden - 1804-1881
He was a botanist of German origin. He assumed that plants are made of cells. He was co-founder, with Theodor Schwann and Rudolf Virchow, of The Cell Theory. Initially practicing law, Schleiden found out he liked botany, and then practiced it.
  • Theodor Schwann - 1810-1882

    Theodor Schwann - 1810-1882
He was a Zoologist in Germany. He had very broad contibutions, such as; being the co-founderof cell theory; nervous system scwann cells; pepsin study; and the word metabolism. He had been a key player in science development.
  • Rudolf Virchow - 1821-1902

    Rudolf Virchow - 1821-1902
He was a Physicist from Germany. He was the co-founderof cell theory with Matthias Schlieden and Theeodor Schwann. He attended Berlin University. He assumed that all cells derive from other cells, and the nucleus is responsible for cell division. He was also a activist, and is known for his influence on public health and medical research.
