Dred Scott vs. Sandford
In the court case between Dred Scott and Sandford, Dred Scott, a Virginia slave tried to sue his owner, Sandford. The case went to the Supreme court where they finally decided that Dred Scott was legal property of Sandford. -
Lincoln-Douglas Debates
A series of debates between Lincoln and Stephen Douglass for a spot of the Senate. Most of the debates concerned slavery, and in teh debates, they tried to win the vote of the people. Douglass won the debates.
