Treaty of Paris (1763)
The Treaty Of Paris was signed by Great Britain , France , Spain , and Portugal. The Treaty of Paris(1763) was more in favor of the British because they gained all of the land in North America that was owned by the french. The French only really had Haiti. The relationship between Great Britain and the colonists was getting worse due to all of the taxes being passed without the consent of the Colonial Assembly. -
Pontiac's Rebellion
Cheif Pontiac was the one who started the rebellion. This occured in the Great lakes Region. This rebellion happened to try and to bring back the French. Another goal was to weaken the British. -
Sugar Act
The new Prime Minister, George GrenvilleProposed in Raising money by collecting duties already in effect. The law known as The Sugar Act. It actually lowered the duty on foreign molasses. This still angered the Colonists because the tax was passed without the consent of the Colonial Assembly. -
Quartering act
British Parlimament passed the Quartering Act.This happened in Great Britain.the act required that the colonies provide housing and supplies for the British troops of the French and Indian War. The colonists did not like this one bit. the colonists just had to deal with this.The colonists had to accept the right of the parliment to regulate trade and provide for defense. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was passed by British Parliment.This act was passed in Great Britain. this act was supposed to raise money from the colonies. This act required the colonists to pay a tax on all printed materials. Some of these materials were news papers, books, court documents, contracts, and land deeds.this was the first time that parliment had imposed a direct within the colonies. -
Townshend Acts
Charles Townshend was the one who originated the Townshend acts. This act was passed in Great Britain.This act was passed because of the repeal of the Stamp Act. The Townshend Act was the tax on imports of custom goods. These custom goods were glass, lead, paints, paper,and tea. -
Boston massacre
This started due to the tensions of the colonists and the british.This took place in front of the old state house in Boston.The boston Massacre was a street fight threw many things at each other. some of these things were snowballs, stones, sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. -
Boston Tea Party
This took place on three British ships in the Boston harbor.This took place because the colonists did not want to have to pay taxes on the British tea. They were afraid that Britain would take over America, and they wanted to rule their own country. They thought that the tea would put all of the colonists out of business. The sons of Liberty dressed up as native americans and then tipped over 342 crates of tea. -
Intolerable Acts
Lord North was the one to be advised by King George. This was meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their defiance in throwing a large tea shipment into Boston harbor. This was a big step toward war and revolution was taken by both sides. -
Battle of Lexington And Concord
General thomas Gage Started this Battle. The first military contact of the American Revolutionary War. They were fought in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy, and Cambridge, near Boston.The significance of these battles is that they were the first battles of the Revolutionary War.
