    The Navigation act of 1651
    Ships' crews had to be three-quarters English, and "enumerated" products not produced by the mother country, such as tobacco, cotton, and sugar were to be shipped from the colonies only to England or other English colonies.
  • French and Indian war

    George Washington was on a mission to scout the nearby areas. He ran into a french outpost in Pennslvania. He gathered up troops and attacked the outpost, it ended very badly but kickstarted the war to begin.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The British government did not want American colonists crossing the Appalachian Mountains and creating tension with the French and Native Americans there. The solution seemed simple. They issued the Royal Proclamation of 1763, which declared the boundaries of the thirteen colonies as the Appalachian Mountains.

    Passed on April 5, 1764, the Sugar Act was an Act of the Parliament of Great Britain, a revision to the earlier Sugar and Molasses Act of 1733, which had imposed a tax of sixpence per gallon on molasses in order to make English products cheaper than those from the French West Indies.

    The British had been forcing their way into the colonists homes and they didnt like that. So they were on the street saying stuff to the soldiers. They soldiers retalliated and shot at them. They ended up killing five males and injuring six others.

    The Colonists were furious with Britain becuase they forced the colonists to take the tea that they had given too them. Though they have given them the tea they had taxed the tea. So in honesty britain was forcing the colonies to take their taxed tea.

    The Intolerable Acts were passed as a punishment for the colonists. Britain was angry with the Boston Tea Party Act. So they passed three laws/acts that infuriated the colonists.

    Every colony except Georgia sent delcates to philedelphia to meet and discuss rules. They wanted to see who owned what province and what they were to do about it. They also discussed what to do about the problem with the british.
  • 2nd Continental Congress

    2nd Continental Congress
    They met to decide what to do about the british problem and how to solve it. They wanted to discuss and decide laws on their new found colonies.

    The British Parliament passed the Stamp act which taxed paper in the colonies. So a little while after the stamp act the british patliament decided to pass the declaratory act which cancelled out the stamp act.
