  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
The sugar act was passed by the parliament to pay off the war debts from the French and Indian war. It also helped pay for the money it takes to run the colonies. The act increased the cost on imported sugars, textiles, coffee, wines, and indigo.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
The stamp act was passed by parliament imposing the first direct tax on the american colonies. The reason for this was that they needed more money to pay for the high costs of the British military organization in America. • The Quebec Act

    The Quebec Act
This act gave civil government and religious freedom to Catholics living in Quebec. For colonists it was having the British show them that Quebec can have religious freedom but the colonists. This was just a spit in the face for the colonists but they wont give up.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
On the day December 16, 1773 a group of men called the sons of liberty board three British ships and dump 45 tons of tea into the Boston harbor. It was a response by the colonists who opposed tea which was taxed by someone other than their own representatives. This went down as one of the most important things that happened during the revolution.
  • The Boston Port Act

This act closed the port of Boston until the price of the dumped tea was recovered. It moved the capital of the colony over to Salem. It also made the official entry for the Massachusetts colony.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
This act allowed royal troops to stay in houses or empty buildings if barracks were not available. The houses the troops stayed at had to provide them with food water and transportation. As you could expect this made the colonists hate the British even more then they did already.
  • The Massachusetts Bay Regulating Act

    The Massachusetts Bay Regulating Act
This act made all law officers subject to appointment by the royal governor. It also banned all town meetings that did not have the permission of the royal governor. This act stopped the sons of liberty from having secret meetings.
  • Impartial Administration of Justice act

    Impartial Administration of Justice act
This act allowed the royal governor to move the case to another colony or even England if he feared the juries would be bias. The colonists judges would be bias for the colonists just so they could revolutionize and not lose an important member. This was one of the last straws for the colonists.
