The Navigation Acts was a series that restricted colonial trade with Britain. This enriched the British but upset the colonists. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was issued after the French and Indian War and it was when the British prohibited colonists from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. The colonists disliked this very much. They thought they deserved to live on the land because they had helped pay for the French and Indian War. So as a protest, they ignored it. -

Sugar Act
The British taxed molasses and sugar. The colonists were very angered and they boycotted. -

Britain asked the colonist to host 1,500 soldiers and supply them necessities to live. The colonists flat out refuse. -
Declaratory Act
The Declaratory Act was an act of the Parliament of Great Britain. It was accompanied the repeal of the Stamp Act. The colonists ignored this act because they were celebrating the repeal of the Stamp Act. -
Townshand Act
A large tax on glass, paper, lead, and tea. The colonists protested, boycotted, and smuggling illegal goods. -
Boston Masacre
The Boston Massacre was caused by pirates throwing things at the British. They were pelting them with glass and one of the British soldiers shot and this caused the others to shoot. Although the name causes it to sound different, only around 4 or 5 people died in the "massacre". -

Boston Tea Party
The colonists dumped British tea into the Boston Harbor because of the ridiculous taxiing the tea had. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act lowered the price on this East India tea so much that it was way below tea from other suppliers and this made the colonists only buy tea from this company and no other suppliers. -
Intolerable Act
Boston port is closed. There was limited town meetings which called for all trade to come from Britain. This caused the colonists to form the First Continental Congress. -
First Contennial Congress
The colonists were given rights to write congress laws. The members were elected by the colonists. Members of the colony government were formed. -
Second Continental Congress
Petition sent to the King by the Second Continental Congress begging him to stop the war. It was unsuccessful and the King still declared war. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The British troops were sent to take colonial weapons and they ran into the prepare but untrained colonist and the British soldiers were defeated. The colonist were ready because two men warned all the men and the British solider were not ready for them. -
Battle Of Bunkerhill
The battle of Bunkerhill is when the Patriots surrounded Boston on every side of except Charleston and 1,000 minute men marched to Bunkerhill. -
Thomas Paine's Common Sense
Thomas Paine's Common Sense was the first work to openly ask for independence from Britain. -
French and Indian War
The French and Indian War started because of the disputed whether upper Ohio was part of the British Empire therefore opened to trade or was it part of the French Empire. The war gave Britain big terrestrial gains but it caused British items to have more of a tax, which later lead into the American Revolution.
