The Albany congress
The conference at the Albany congress advocated the British for their defense and security. Seven colonies went to the British Board of Trade to work out better plans for defense. -
French and Indian war ends and Treaty of Paris was signed.
This war ended with the Treaty of Paris by France and Great Britain. During the war, the British suffered many defeats. In the treaty of Paris, France lost claims to Canada and gave Louisiana to Spain. Britain received Spanish Florida and upper Canada. -
The Stamp Act
The British Parliament passed the Stamp Act which was the replenish of the finances after the war with France. The extra money from the Stamp Act would used to maintain the army. The colonies started to be taxed by their own representatives. -
The Townshend Act
From June to July of 1767, the parliament put taxes on goods coming into the United States from Great Britain. Americans tried to fired back by creating a boycott for the goods, and began harassing the customs commissioner. -
The Boston Massacre
Tension was high between the colonists and British soldiers. Young protesters headed up to Hugh White and started throwing snowballs at him. There were about 200 colonists and they surrounded 7 British troops lost patience and started firing in the crowd. -
The Gaspee Affair
Some say this was the first engagement in the Revolutionary war. The British vessel went along the coast burning it all down. That morning John Brown got very angry about the taxation on goods and seized the ship. He later burned the ship all the way down. -
The Boston Tea party
The British put a tax on the imported tea . They did that to gain some money for the struggling British East India Company. The Americans didn't like the fact that they had to pay for the tea. They wanted to be able to trade with everyone in the whole world.Their revenge for all this was that a group boarded 2 ships and destroyed 92,000 pounds of tea by dumping it into the harbor. -

The Coercive Acts
In response to the tea party, the Boston harbor was closed until people payed for the damage they caused. They also replaced the council members of each colonies with British people. -
Lexington and Concord
Thomas Gage led British soldiers from Boston to Lexington, where he planned to capture Sam Adams and John Hancock, the leaders of the colonies. The Americans noticed and were planning for the arrival of the British. This was the start for Americas war for independence. -

British attacks on coastal towns
The British has burned down 2 ports at the coast. Colonies decided to stick together to oppose the attacking, eventually making them win.
