    In October, the Proclamation Line prevented some colonists from settling on the land marked by the Appalachian Mountains. The French had gotten this land from the French and Indian War. The Proclamation gave Georgia some more land and gave soldiers who had fought in the French and Indian War land.

    The Sugar Act was a form of taxation. The people were outraged. The Act taxed molasses and sugar, something that New England and Boston didn't like. They used sugar and molasses to make rum, so they were upset.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act also taxes the citizens, not unlike the Sugar Act. The Stamp Act charged more money to the people for papers and official documents. This was ratified in England, even though the events didn't happen in England.

    In the Boston Massacre, protests were going on. One of the protesters threw a rock at the British soldiers, and they open fire. The soldiers killed 5 and injured many. The newspapers had a different point of view, so it was widely spread.

    The Boston Tea Party was a series of protests. The Americans were frustrated at the British for imposing the saying "taxation without representation." A group of Massachusetts colonists boarded a ship and dumped tea into the ocean.

    The Boston Port Act was an act that closed all the ports in Boston. Due to the Boston Tea Party, Britain closed the ports because they dumped the tea in the ocean. They also ordered the citizens of Boston to pay a large fine.

    The Quartering Act allowed the British to house soldiers. For the Americans, this was bad news. It made them give up their barracks and house to house soldiers from Great Britain.

    Administration of Justice Act
    The Administration of Justice Act ensured a fair trial for British officials. This happened if they were charged with capital offenses, while they were upholding the law of the British. It happened if they were in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
  • The Massachusetts Government Act

    The Massachusetts Government Act
    This act gave the royally-appointed more power. The Massachusetts government was restricted in its government. This was unfair because it took away Massachusetts's democratic freedom.
  • The Quebec Act

    The Quebec Act
    The Quebec Act allowed French Catholics to go to church. It also allowed them to get great jobs in the government. It helped the French practice their form of law.
