The Proclamation of 1763
England banned all colonists from settling west from the appalachain mountians. This angered the colonists and the the proclomation was widely ignored.They felt they had a right to move into the land they fought for. -
Sugar Act
[England](http:///www.ushistory.org/declaration/related/sugaract.htm) taxed the colonies on sugar mollases and other things colonies imported. Colonists protested against the tax that they had no say in.To the colonists Britain had no right to tax them if they didnt have input on the matter. -
Quartering Act
British soldiers were allowed to stay in any home they wanted and the colonists were forced to feed them. Many colonists refused to house soldiers and felt it was an invasion of privacy. -
Stamp Act

Colonists protested against this leading to it being repealed later.Much like the sugar act the colonists were very angry britain was taxing them when they couldnt vote on it. -
Townshend Acts
England put a tax on any imports coming in to the colonys and the writs of assistance allowed british officials to search these ships for smuggled goods. -
Boston Massacre
Soldiers of Great Britain shoot an angry mob and killed 5 colonists. The colonists see this as a massacre on unarmed people. In reality the colonists were threatening soldiers and hitting the soldiers with sticks.This is due to paul reveres engraving which held many inaccuracies.This engraving was meant to create support for the revolution. -
Tea Act
Britain taxed all tea and had a monopoly over the colonies then forced them to buy tea from them. The colonists were angered that they again had to pay a tax they had no say in the same way they were angered over the stamp and sugar acts. the colonists were fed up with this tax that evenually sparked the boston tea party. -
Boston Tea Party
The colonies threw about 1 million dollars worth of tea overboard because of the tea act.Dressed as mohawks they went onto the ships and dumped the tea causing the intolerable acts by Britain. -
Intolerable Acts
Britain closed boston harbor until the tea was paid for and banned town meetings. Strengthened the Quartering act and moved trials to england so the trials would be much more biased.these are the acts that sparked war between the colonys and Great Britain. -
First Continental Congress
all the colonies exept for georgia met in philidelphia to discuss the intolerable acts and what should be done. they decided to not pay for the tea smuggle weapons into the colonys and to train militias. -
Paul Revere's Ride
Paul Revere rode his horsey around massachesetts and yelled "the regulars are coming" to wake and warn everbody that the british were coming so the minutemen would be ready to fight when the british arraved there. -
The battle of Lexington and Concord
a.k.a "The shot heard 'round the world" this was the start of the Revolutionary war!! At concord the rebels drove the british away after they tried to seize smuggled weapons.
