Causes of the American Revaluation

    The proclamation act of 1763 was signed by King George III. It banned any colonist settlement west of the Appalachian mountains. This was supposed to make the English have a treaty/peace with the Indians.
  • Sugar act of 1764

    This increased the taxes on imported items. Such as sugar, textiles,coffee,wines, & dye. This was enacted by Prime Minister George Greenville.

    This was the first time that the Americans had to pay taxes to England in over 150 years. This taxed printed materials. Such as dice,playing cards,legal documents, etc.

    It was when a protester threw a rock at a soldier that was on patrol. The soldiers shot point blank randomly. Five were killed and six were injured.

    The colonists were mad that the British had taxed their tea. They then dumped tea into a ocean as payback.They dumped 47 tons.

    It was when the British closed their port and made you pay a lot to go there from the boat because of the Boston tea party. The fine was to pay for the tea thrown into the ocean.It was set into place because of american colonists.

    It was set into place to show the american colonists that they were not the ones in authority and it was the British. It also insured a fair trial to those who broke the law in Massachusetts bay colony. It was also known as the murder act.

    Massachusetts government was royally-appointed. It gave more power to the government then the people. It enhanced the military government.

    It would make soldiers be able to house in houses with out the owners consent. Allowed them to be put in private housing as well. A bad thing was the American colonists had to pay for the soldiers staying in their houses.

    Allowed French Catholics to get better jobs in the government. The colonists disliked the act because it gave the British more land and power. It gave power to the catholic church so they can rule more.
