The Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was the line where it told American colonists that they could not go any farther. The French tried to stop them from getting into Native American territory. The boundary that was used was the Appalachian Mountains. -
The Sugar Act
In 1764, the British Parliament passed an act for the colonies called the Sugar Act. The Sugar Act had forced people to pay tax on sugar. From sugar becoming high price it had caused the colonies to have even more anger with the British. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament for the American colonists as a new tax. The tax had made the colonists pay for printed paper they used. This had affected the independence of American colonists. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a fight that took place in the streets of Boston. It happened when British soldiers and colonists had started throwing stuff at the soldiers to get through. This then ended up making 6 people killed and 5 people injured by British soldiers shooting some colonists which is how it got the name "The Boston Massacre". -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was an act of protest to the British. It was the event where colonists had dumped tons of tea from the British because of the Sugar and Stamp Act. The colonists did this for the saying "no taxation without representation". -
The Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts were laws passed by the British Parliament. These laws had punished the colonists in the colony of Massachusetts Bay due to the Boston Tea Party. Some of the events that happened were colonists being invaded by British soldiers and the Boston Harbor being closed down.
