Proclamation of 1763
It's proclamation that the colonist could not move west. This was the territory that the British won (with help from the colonists.) -
Sugar act
It placed a tax on sugar , molasses and other products imported by the colonists. They placed harsh punishment on smugglers - merchants required a list all item they carried on their ships -
Committees of correspondence
The earliest Committees of Correspondence were formed temporarily to address a particular problem. Once a resolution was achieved, they were disbanded. The first formal committee was established in Boston in 1764 to rally opposition to the Currency Act and unpopular reforms imposed on the customs service. -
Stamp act
The colonists had to pay tax I have an official stamp out on paper items and all legal documents. -
Quartering act
In order to save
Money and enforce the proclamation line of 1763. The act required colonists to quarter ,or house the British troops and provide them with food and other supplies. -
Townsend act
Charles townshend passed this tax to pay for the troops supplies in America. -
Writs of Assistance
To enforce the townshend act.the writs of assistance allowed tax collectors and British troops. -
Boston massacre
"BULLYING" British soldier. British soldier started fighting. Street fights broke out. The colonists said "fire if you dare." British heard fire so they did
Ten people were killed. -
Boston tea party
On December 16, 1773 . Men disguised as Mohawk Native Americans boarded 3 ships in Boston harbor. 342 chests of tea over board. -
Tea act☕️
The British repealed most of the Townshend act, but keep the tax on tea wanted to prove they could control the colonists began to protest leave. This led to the Boston tea party. -
Intolerable acts
These acts were passed to punish Boston and send a message to the other colonies that Britain was on control. -

1 continental congress
The first Continental Congress met in Carpenter's Hall in Philadelphia, from September 5, to October 26, 1774. Carpenter's Hall was also the seat of the Pennsylvania Congress. All of the colonies except Georgia sent delegates. -

2 Continental Congress
The President of the First Congress was Peyton Randolph. The Second Continental Congress.
The Second Continental Congress first met on May 10, 1775. After that, the delegates continued to meet in different sessions until March of 1781, when the Articles of the Confederation were ratified. -
Declaration of Independence
This document is the first printed version of the American Declaration of Independence. On June 7, 1776, Richard Henry Lee of Virginia introduced a resolution urging Congress, meeting in Philadelphia, to declare independence from Great Britain. Four days later, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and Robert R. Livingston were appointed as a committee to draft a declaration of independence. -
