    This is when the Mexican constitution was made and overlooked by government officials ,Erasmo Seguin ,and even Stephen F. Austin. It was crafted in Mexico and was a lot like the United States Constitution ,but the biggest was that Mexico only allowed one religion. Though the constitution was passed ,but the government couldn't enforce it.

    Fredonian Rebellion- Max
    Haden Edwards got a grant to settle as much as much as 800 families in East Texas in April 14, 1825. He forced any settlers who could prove their ownership pay him or move out. Some of the older settlers to be understandably were angry. This caused Mexico to cancel his contract. Haden decided to make a deal with the Cherokee Indians. He tried to rally other people to the "The Republic Of Fredonia." He failed and fled over Sabine River in 1827.

    General Manuel de Mier y Terán went to Texas for a scientific expedition. He went to observe natural resources and Indians as well as to determine the boarder between Sabine R. and the Red River. He left with the commission November 1827. After being in East Texas for about 2 years they set out for Mexico City in January 1829. When he got back he wrote a report to really make sure that the United States wouldn't get Texas

    The President of Mexico Vicente R. Guerrero issued a law that stated that all slavery was to be abolished. He most likely did this in hopes to limit American immigration. It reached Texas October 16 ,but was declined by the Texas political chief. People were so mad tat they petitioned to have him kicked out of office. Though the law was never passed people still got nervous.

    The Law of April 6,1830 was constructed to limit immigration from United States. The law stated that all slavery was to be abolished in Mexico and intended to exterminate all empresario contracts. Stephen F. Austin went to the Mexican government and got them to limit down the law. This law is directly responsible for several of the Texas Revolution.

    Conflict Of Anahuac- Max
    Juan Davis Bradburn was ordered to go to the mouth of the Trinity River ,so he could establish a garrison and a town at the mouth on October 26, 1830. His job was to prevent immigrants from the United States from entering. He arrested two anglos for not paying a tariff. Settles were mad and organized a group of 200. The group captured Bradburns entire cavalry force and held them hostage in exchange for the prisoners. Bradburn refused to let the prisoners go ,so his boss let all the prisoners go.
