China was ruled by the imperial Manchu dynasty. The population were having such a bad time, they had to work hard and most were poor. They were part of the peasants' group, which means they should pay taxes to the emperor. -
Pu-Yi became Emperor
Death of the Emperor, his successor was Pu-Yi, who was just 2 years old. -
Double Tenth Revolution
(October) Double Tenth Revolution. It started when the Chinese government lost control of the military, this caused that some provinces started to declare independent of Beijing. -
Chinese Republic
(November) Delegates from the independent side declared the creation of the Chinese Republic. The First president was Dr. Sun Yixian. -
Sun and Yuan Shikai
There was an agreement between Sun and Yuan Shikai, in which they involved the Chinese Presidency, in return for the end of the Manchu rule. -
New Emperor
Yuan started to be Emperor, he proclaims himself. To that period, the military had stopped supporting him. -
May Fourth Movement
May Fourth Movement. A group of students revolted against the Chinese culture, the group of the warlords and Japanese. This movement was made by the rebirth of Chinese, they wanted to show how nationalistic they were. -
New Chinese Party
The Chinese Communist Party was formed. It was started by intellectuals and they did not have military strength. -
First United Front
First United Front. GMD and CCP party were together, they wanted to destroy the same enemy (warlords) and to unified China without having the foreign countries´ power. -
GMD
After the GMD party got a great result on the Northern Expedition, they captured Shanghai, Nanjing, and Hangzhou. -
GMD VS CCP
China was declared united by Jiang, which caused the fight between GMD and CCP.
