(November) Delegates from the independent side declared the creation of the Chinese Republic. The First president was Dr. Sun Yixian.

There was an agreement between Sun and Yuan Shikai, in which they involved the Chinese Presidency, in return for the end of the Manchu rule.

Yuan started to be Emperor, he proclaims himself. To that period, the military had stopped supporting him.

May Fourth Movement. A group of students revolted against the Chinese culture, the group of the warlords and Japanese. This movement was made by the rebirth of Chinese, they wanted to show how nationalistic they were.

The Chinese Communist Party was formed. It was started by intellectuals and they did not have military strength.

First United Front. GMD and CCP party were together, they wanted to destroy the same enemy (warlords) and to unified China without having the foreign countries´ power.

After the GMD party got a great result on the Northern Expedition, they captured Shanghai, Nanjing, and Hangzhou.

China was declared united by Jiang, which caused the fight between GMD and CCP.
