French/Indian War
Expansion into the Ohio Valley conflicted with British colonies and the French which led to the announcement of war. The French was more likely to win because of their close ally, the Indians. British took control of Louisbourg, Fort Frontenac, and Quebec. French lost their last land in Canada and then Spain joined forces with France to defeat British, but Britian was focused on conquering lands their territories in different parts of the world. -
The Currency Act
The Currency Act is from the Parliament of Great Britian that controlled paper money made by colonies of British America. Its goal was to help British merchants from being paid decreased money. -
Stamp Act
Imposed a stamp duty on newspapers and legal documents. It also helped encourage movements against the British Crown. -
Townshend Acts
Series of acts passed by Parliament of Britian that were colonial taxes on British imports. -
Boston Massacre
Boston Massacre was a fight involving a patriot group of men and a team of red coats. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act was a series of unpopular policies and taxes imposed by Britian on American colonies. It led to resentment towards British and the Boston Tea Party. -
Boston Tea Party
The Americans felt that British were unfairly taxing them so Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty pushed crates of tea into the water. -
Intolerable Acts
Series of laws passed by British Parliament as a punishment to Massachusetts colonists for the Boston Tea Party. -

The First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from all but one colony. -
Lexington and Concord
British wanted to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock at Lexington and gun powder at Concord. Paul Revere galloped to each town to inform everyone that the British are coming. Militias fronted the British and a sinlge bullet was shot but their was no owner of the bullet. Both sides did not know what to expect. -
