    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1773 prohibited any English settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. The proclamation followed the Treaty Of Paris which formally ended the seven years' war, also transferred the French territory in North America to Great Britain. It was mainly intended to conciliate by watching the incursion of settlers into their lands.

    The Sugar act was passed by parliament to pay for the war debt brought on by the French and Indian War. Also to help pay for the expenses of running the colonies and newly acquired territories. It was also known as the American Revenue act.

    The stamp act was passed by parliament imposing the first direct tax on the colonies. It was the first time in 150 years where the Americans DIRECTLY to England. It was to help the British troops stationed in the colonies during the seven years' war.

    The Quartering Act allowed royal troops to stay in houses or empty buildings if barracks were not available. The colonists did not like having to home the soldiers. They wanted the soldiers far away from them.

    The Boston Massacre when a mob harassed British soldiers who then fired their muskets pointblank into the crowd of un armed men. It killed 3 instantly, wounding 2 others, and injuring 6. The people interpreted the even in many ways, depending on what side they were on.

    A group of men calling themselves "The Sons of Liberty" went to Boston Harbor. They were dressed as Mohawk Indians. The group of men boarded 3 British ships, the Beaver, The Elenor, and the Darthmouth. They dumped 45 tons of tea into the boston harbor

    The Boston Port was closed in 1774 until the price of the dumped tea was recovered. The capital of Massachusetts was moved to Salem, and made marble head the official port of entry for the Massachusetts colony. This restructured the Massachusetts government.

    This act made all law officers subject to appointment by the royal governor and banned all town meetings that didn't have approval from the royal governor. The act gave the royalty appointed more power. It was also known as the Massachusetts government act.

    This act allowed the royal governor of a colony to move trials to another colony or even England if he feared that juries in those colonies wouldnt judge a case fairly. The act was dismissive of colonial legal rights and prerogatives. This act was never repealed.

    The Quebec Act granted civil government and religious freedom to Catholics living in Quebe. The act was passed to give the loyalty of the French speaking majority. It guaranteed the freedom of worship.
