    French and Indian War

    The French were settled in America and made peace with the native Indians. Around 1754 the British or the soon to be called Americans came over and fought The French and Indians for the land. This war lasted for seven years thus being called the "Seven Years War" which is now called the French and Indian War.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The British placed a direct tax on a variety of printed materials such as cards, dice, books, newspapers and etc. Also during the time of the Stamp act another law called the Navigation act which forced American exports to go through English Ports. The Americans got really mad and decide to act on their own by starting a resistance because they were being directly taxed by the British without their consent.
  • Lexington & Concord

    Lexington & Concord
    The battles of Lexington & Concord fought in April, 1775 which started the American Revolutionary war from 1775-83. On the night of April 18, 1775 there were hundreds of British soldiers marching from Boston to Concord in order to seize an arms cache owned by the American colonists. Paul Rider and other riders sounded the alarm letting the colonists that the Red Coats were coming and the militiamen can get their troops ready for battle. After the war ended in '83 the colonists won independence
  • Townshend Acts

    A series of acts passed in the beginning of 1767 by the Parliament of Great Britain relating to the British colonies in North America. The acts are named after Charles Townshend, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, who proposed the program.
