Causes of American revolution

    Proclamation of 1763
    This act set boundary lines on the Appalachian mountains so no other people could settle there. They did this to try to prevent the colonists from starting a war. It ended up making the colonist mad and they wanted to do something about this.
  • Sugar Act

    The British parliament made this act so money would be made for the king/queen. The act also made sugar/ things that come in from other countries extremely expensive to the colonists. This act made trading a lot harder which made people's depression worse over the war.

    This act was passed to raise money for Britain. This act taxed things like newspapers, dice, legal documents, and playing cards. This also helped to help pay for British troops in the war.

    The Boston Massacre was a street fight between the British and the colonists. They threw things at the British which made them fire their guns. This scene was the start of the build up of the revolution.

    The Boston Tea Party was when a group of men threw 342 chests of tea into the harbor. This happened because the British were unfairly taxing the colonists. The colonists wanted to be able to vote for laws.

    This act closed the port from all goods that came into the land. This act was passed because of the Boston Tea Party. They passed this act until the amount of money that the men threw into the sea was replaced with other money.

    This act gave British people an advantage over the colonists. This act let British people that did a crime go to another place for there trial. This made the British people win trails more because the people didn't have as mush information.
  • Massachusetts Government Act

    This act gave the crown more power to vote and gave no power to Massachusetts. This act was passed because the British wanted to punish the colonists for dumping tea into the harbor.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act said British troops could be quartered by families. This made the colonists even more mad. They had to provide the soldiers with basic needs like a bed, water, and food.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This act helped a war not to start in Quebec. They passed this to gain the loyalty of the French. The colonists feared that the act would affect them.
