Czars Resist change
All of the people of Russia wanted out of autocracy, where the king had all the power. During this time it got bad because Czar hid all information from the people, in turn they had no idea what was going on outside of their town. This connects to the Russian Revolution because people wanted to make their own ideas and change their goverment and stand up for the people. -
Industrialization
Russia was the worlds fourth largest producer of steel. Railroad built to connect European Russia in the west to Russian ports in the Pacific Ocean in the east for trade. This Connected to the Russian Revolution by increasing trade which made either agreements or disputes between countries. -
Bloody Sunday
People had protested better working conditions, and personal freedom. A Duma was created to help people come to executive decisions of what to do to better Russia. This even was huge, it created conflict between the government and the people rioting for better working conditions and their personal rights. -
World War I
Russia had a weak army and little money in the economy to succeed. They were fighting Germany which had a stronger army, guns, and more supplies. This was a major conflict and forced many countries to get involved, in which it became a large theme in the Russian Revolution. -
The March Revolution
There was a shortage of bread and fuel, people began to riot for supplies. Czar ended up getting exacuted in result of this war. This connects to the Russian revolution because people had enough of the kings rule and wanted to go agenst their country which opened the eyes of others. -
Alexander Kerensky
He became the leader of Russia after Czar was executed. People didn't agree with him throughout the short time he ruled. Many people revolted against the government at this time which created a large group of un-trusting people. -
Bolshevik takes over
They were a group of people under leadership of Lenin, who also were communist. They were looking for equality throughout businesses, land, and the people. This played a role in revolution because the Bolsheviks ended up winning, and communist ended up taking over the government. -
Russian Civil War
They believed on bringing a king back to rule would help the Russian Empire. They had wanted anything but what the Bolsheviks wanted. The revolution connected to this because the White army had lost which created conflict because so many of the people did not want communist so war continued to rage.
