Flash Card TIme
While I was in Kindergarten, my mom would hold up flashcards of color words with the colors that represented the word on them, and I would recite them while I was in the bath. -
Sight Word Fun
While in Kindergarten, we had to bring home sight words to learn how to make complex sentences and were able to make meanings from these sight word cards. -
AR
Starting in first grade, I was assesed and started reading books for AR, which helped me visualize what I was reading and interpret the meaning behind the novel. -
Paper Books
While I was in first grade, we were assigned to bring paper books home and these books helped me to explore more challenging words and create meaning. -
Getting off on the righ note
While in fourth grade, I chose to play the trumpet and had to interpret notes and music for the first time by making connections and visualizing what notes sounded like. -

While in sixth grade, I wrote many poems and short stories.I worked with my english teacher and became a puslihed author of two poems. -
Summer Reading Program
My mom would take us to the library in the summer, and we would read a book to get a ticket that would go into a bucket to win a prize. -
Marching Band
I had to move to specific coordinates and visualize where my next move was going to be. -
Navigating the IVCC buildings
My first day at Ivcc I had to find my way around different buildings using maps and letters on the buildings.
