Navigation Act's
The Navigation Act's directed trade between England and the Colonies. It made the colonists mad so they started smuggling goods, and they wanted to sell thir own goods to get higher prices. -
Proclamation of 1763
This act set the Appalachian mountains as the temporary western boundary for the colonies. This upset the colonies because speculators had already bought land west of the mountains. -
Sugar Act 1764
The Sugar Act lowered the tax on imported molasses. This made the Colonies mad because the colonists believed that the act violated their rights as English Citizens. -
Stamp Act 1765
The stamp act had a tax on all printed material, all printed material had to have a stamp on it. This made the colonists mad because it taxed them without their consent. -
Declatory act 1766
This act stated that parliment had the right to tax and make decisions for the british colonies.The colonists disaproved of this act because parliment could tax whatever they wanted. -
Townshend Acts 1767
The Townshend acts apply only to imported goods such as glass, tea, and paper. These acts made the colonists mad because they believed that their own representatives had the right to tax them. -
Tea Act 1773
The Tea Act allowed the company a virtual monopoly, or sole control, of the trade for tea in America. The outcome of this; the colonists vowed to stop the East India Company's ships from unloading. -
Coercive Acts 1774
These acts intendend to punish the people of Massachusetts for their resistance to british law. Also closed Massachusetts harbor. The outcome of this act was that the bostonians let soliders into their homes for shelter. Other colonies Sent food and clothing to support Boston. -
Quebec Act 1774
This act set up a government for Quebec. Also gave Quebec the area west of the Appalachians and north of Ohio River. The colonists expressed their feelings in their name for the new laws.
