I think the Constitutional Act was important in Confederation because it showed the Canadians the mistakes that the British Empire could make, and made them want to become independent.

Rebellion of Upper Canada

I think the rebellion of Upper Canada was important in the process of Canada becoming a nation because they cause the Durham Report, which recommended that all of Canada should be combined into one large colony, which was a step towards the creation of our nation.

Rebellions of Lower Canada

I believe the rebellions of Lower Canada were even more important than the rebellion of Upper Canada, because it was a larger uprising which made the British notice it more, and caused the Durham Report.

Great Coalition Formed

I think the formation of the Great Coalition was important to the formation of Canada because it forced 17 men who didn't get along to work together for the good of their future country, and showed them the benefits of teamwork.

Charlottetown Conference

I think the Charlottetown Conference was important in the creation of Canada because it set Confederation in motion, which encouraged the rest of the Canadian colonies to join the nation of Canada.

I think Confederation was the most important part to Canada becoming its own nation. When the first three provinces joined into Canada, it encouraged the rest of the colonies to join as well, creating the country we know now.
