How they fought - Plowed through no mans land. Soliders drove them. No guns.
Why? - Effiecient way to cross no mans land. This technology quickely led to improvments in bulldozers, and led to the development of the snowmobile. -

How they fought - Creping barrage. Used maps to find strategic routes through no mans land. Machine guns, trenches, tanks.
Why - Showed other countries Canada's power. First time Canadian troops fought together. -
Conscription
What? - Conscription - Forced inlistment in the armed forces
When? - After the battle of sommes, in 1917
Where? - Canada - men aged from 20 - 35 were conscripted.
How? - Door to door, letters to house
Why? - Since so many Canadian men were fighting in the war overseas, this opened up jobs for women. Women were later allowed to vote. Cananda lost many troops in the battle of sommes, so they needed to replenish them quickly to help in the war. -
Women Voting Rights
What? - Prime Minister Borden passed a law that allowed women over 21, that were a wife, sister, mother, daughter of a solider fighting over seas.

Why? - Women got a say and a voice. Prime Minister Borden was re-elected an allowed even more women to vote. -

Why? - Canada signed the Treaty of Verailles independently from Great Britain. Joined the League of Nations.
