Saskatchewan Doctor Strike

The doctors of the Canadian provence wanted to strike until the universal medical insuracne was revoked. Concequence:
The goverment brought in doctors from other provences and countires to do the job, and gave the saskatchewan doctors the option to opt out of the medicare plan if they wanted. By 1965, they mostly decided to stay in .

Lester B Pearson

Cause:
In 1966, Prime Minister Lester B Pearson introduced a National Heath Care system for all canadians, Half the cost from the Federal goverment and the other half from the respective provence.
Concequence:
Canadians who coultn afford healthcare themselves now had acces to medical services when needed.

Goverment of canada subsidises costs for hospitalizatoin and medicine. The govemerment decides to take action to ensure the citizens of Canada have health care and are safe. Concequence:
Canadian's get cash support for medical, so that financial situation does not have to be good for you to get healthcare. Must be insured

Canada's Health and Social Transfer

Cause:
Block payments from the Federal Goverment to the Provencial goverment to cover healthcare, post secondardy education, and welfare. Concequence: The provencial goverments had more money to fund hospitals.
