-The Gouzenko Affair was the event of the man: Igor Gouzenko
-The event that happened was when Igor Gouzenko gave away locations of Soviet spies in Canada.
-Gouzenko kept the spies secret until he was being forced back to Russia (where he originally came from)
-In return, he requested permanent protection from the government of Canada
-The reason this information was so important to the government was because of the law made in Quebec 8 years before (Padlock Law) to provent communism in Canada -

-The Berlin Blockade was when the soviets broke an agreement with their allies.
-The soviets then blocked off all the western allies air ways, rail ways, roads, and canal into the country
-The soviets tried to force their allies to give up their established rights to occupy the western part of German capital city of Berlin -

-Soviet Union is trying to get communism as far as they can into other countries

-In 1952 the DEW line was created to warn people of incoming bombings during the cold war.
